The best part of the Year of Projects, for me, is seeing these projects slowly start to land in my inbox every month. From wishful thinking, to the passing of a good pup, to moments of zen, everyone delivered great shadows! If you found art in the shadows around you or bent the shadows to your will, I appreciate them all.

CC | Landscape
Decided to try out some colored shadows and did a "framed" abstract landscape art piece. I had to do a lot of testing with materials to see what worked, but the trickiest part ended up being getting a good photo of it without catching shadows of the camera and figuring the right angles depending on where the sun was (to make it look like the art piece was being viewed straight on like on a wall).
Materials used: Dura-lar film colored in with Tombow markers, then cut and layered and taped to a white cardstock frame.

SK | Rocks
The sun doesn’t set here but it does send some good shadow light through my balcony window in the evening.
Materials: Shadows are cast from an arrangement of rocks found in Iceland and the Faroe Islands.

Part 1 Materials: Sky on the ground. Kraft paper on the grass. Shadows of big maple tree.
Part 2 Materials: Kraft paper and painstaking stencil and sunlight
In case manifestation is real. Or, an exercise in hope. Or, in case I’m a witch and stencils are a spell.
